Direct Answer
What should travelers know about china route planning?
China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy is a conditional transit policy, not general visa-free entry. According to the National Immigration Administration source published on June 27, 2025, eligible travelers from 55 countries may transit through China to a third country or region with a valid international travel document and a confirmed interline ticket showing a date and itinerary. They may enter visa-free through any of the 65 listed open ports in 24 provincial-level areas and stay within the permitted area for that port for no more than 10 days. Tourism, business, visits, and family visits are allowed during the permitted stay, but work, study, journalism, and other activities requiring prior approval still require the proper visa.
